Where children sleep is a project by James Mollison, a photographer born in Kenya in 1973 but grew up in the cold of England. Lay Lay from Thailand, Kaya from Japan, Indira from Nepal, Dong from China, Jaime from USA, Jaun David from Colombia and many others are the characters of this set and photography book. Twenty-four different countries, children’s sleeping places and them lively, messy or empty bedrooms. During his trip James couldn’t help but reflect on his own childhood and how important his own bedroom was to him in his formative years! “I found myself thinking about my bedroom: how significant it was during my childhood, and how it reflected what I had and who I was. It occurred to me that a way to address some of the complex situations and social issues affecting children would be to look at the bedrooms of children in all kinds of different circumstances.” An amazing set that touches your heart!
